WTF1
WTF1’s brand relaunch required quite a lot of content creation in a short space of time, so the brand reached out to me to support from both a freelance videography and editor position. I had the opportunity to create content on behalf of WTF1’s Amber Jones, as well as create a huge host of animations for the weekly content.
Content Creation
To keep up with the demand for weekly content, I worked closely with Amber Jones to meet the tight distribution schedule. For the most part, this consisted of receiving raw footage and audio, alongside the script and edit notes for the episode. Beyond assembly edits, I was tasked with creating all the 2D animations for each video.
All content was designed to respond to current events in the world of motorsport (and specifically F1), so short turnarounds were critical.

2D Animation
Content that reacts to current affairs that is both engaging and delivered quickly is a tall order; it was clear that just talking heads weren’t going to cut it, and access to fresh b-roll wasn’t always going to make the cutting floor in time for the edit.
As such, I was tasked with animating a large amount of content to keep the pace of the videos going. To keep up with demand, I was given the presenter’s script prior to filming to get a head start on the animations before the filming was even complete.
The animations needed to be both on-brand and adaptable in case the details in the animation needed changing at a moment notice.

Videography
Creating on-site content was another key element of the WTF1 brand strategy. Initially, I was invited as the aerial videographer for a day of Go-Kart related filming, but due to a change to the schedule, I stepped up to support the senior videographer to make sure all content was filmed before the sun set!
This meant operating a wide variety of mobile sound and camera equipment on top of piloting a drone over the site.
